hello, it's been a while. i've been busy with life, cooking, and watching the olympics ( of course ) i think everyone here underestimated how busy it would actually be. it's insane. the hype is so cool, though - and its wicked that everyones coming out to show their patriotism. i have never seen so many olympic mittens in one place. its been a little chilly outside, but as much as i wish it has fully transcended into spring - it's still winter.
im not going to lie, im pretty proud i caught on so quickly to finding my way around this city. i could walk to robson and back with my eyes closed! in calgary, im so used to the same old roads - suburbia ect, that i don't really even need to think. im on autopilot.
i've learned a ton about myself, and how i operate. if i hadn't just got a brand new car in the summer, i would be totally fine walking everywhere. i feel in the best shape of my life. ( could also be the morning runs on the seawall ) BEAUTY.
i miss my family, though. but when i come back it will be like nothing ever changed. besides my perspective on everything, of course. i've learned alot about what we take for granted, what we are entitled to, and how important it is to love yourself.
valentines day just passed, the big two-oh. i spent a gorgeous afternoon on granville island with mark. we indulged in fresh calamari for lunch, and browsed the markets taking photos and enjoying eachothers company. it was so great to spend some quality time together.
for dinner, i made baby lobster tails and fillet mignon - accompanied with garlic mashed potatoes, tomato boccocini salad, and of course zinfandel! mmm..
this week i have decided to take advantage of all the free, crazy events vancouver has to offer for tourists and locals alike. lastnight we all attempted to attend alexisonfire. but they were at "capacity" after waiting in line for 2+ hrs - BS! A few rowdy people decided it would be a good idea to knock over the huge metal fence and leave 9 hospitaized. talk about detication?
Friday = deadmau5. They said to line up at 11am or earlier for the 9:30 show. HA!
Im sitting here, sippin my passiontea in perfect view of the crescent moon over the water, couldnt think of a better place to be. Although, there is some pretty cool entertainment on granville tonight.. hmm, better make my way!
xo much love!

b. in love
Tuesday morning I woke up early, and stepped outside for my morning coffee on the front porch. I took in a breath of fresh, humid air. I was surrounded by trees of green, filled with dew drops.Everything felt new, like the calm after the storm. I wanted to live in that moment for a while, and I did. Like i've said before, theres nothing better than lifes simple pleasures.
Ive come to learn that everything calls for trial and error. You can't define whether your doing something "right" or "wrong" until you know the differince. It can be a tedious process, but well worth figuring out.
Not that i ever need an excuse for happiness, but February always gives me this extra skip in my step and I am going to milk it. It could be that the cherry blossoms are blooming, Im exploring a new atmosphere, or yes - indeed - valentines day is approaching!
If you know me you know that i love " LOVE ". So much so that i see hearts in unexpected places, or find myself doodling them without noticing it! This could have something to do with the fact that Im an aquarius, or - the fact that I am born on valentines day : )
Today is Wednesday, I've spent the morning drinking coffee, listening to excellent music, and studying on how to better use my SLR so i can spend the rest of the afternoon photographing.
Have a beautiful week, xo
Beth.
